Dura-Metal utilizes CNC Charmilles and Eltee Pulsitron Ram technology. We offer four (4) full featured machines to complete your EDM specifications.

Dura-Metal utilizes Chamilles and Agie Wire EDM technology. With eight (8) machines total in production, we offer Agie technology that includes six (6) machines, with three (3)ea. of those being 250 models with fine wire and fine finish options.

Dura-Metal offers full service Ram and Wire EDM, capabilities for the job shop marketplace. Experienced toolmakers setup and operate this equipment to demanding tolerances. We offer several CNC Ram machines with C axis capability and several Wire EM machines. WE offer precision machine base orbiting and vectoring functions as well. Precision Rotary work is also no problem.

Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), also known as "spark erosion", employs electrical energy to remove metal from a work piece, without a tool point touching the work piece. Sparks from a pulsating, high frequency electric current jump a gap and vaporize small areas of the work piece. EDM technology enables delicate cutting operations to be performed on very thin work pieces to produce shapes that no conventional machining process can produce.

Although Ram ("sinker" or "vertical") EDM machines are a more mature technology, it is the Wire EDM machine that has revolutionized the tool and die industry during the past 20 years. These machine tools utilize small diameter (.010) conductive wire with varying characteristics to cut contours in any material that is conductive. Dura-Metal toolmakers setup and operate these machines to exacting tolerances.
